Associate – Real Estate (Investment & Development) – NQ-2 Years PQE – Exeter
Location: Exeter
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £58,000 to £70,000 (depending on experience)

A leading international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its highly regarded Real Estate (Investment & Development) team in Exeter. This is an exceptional opportunity to work within one of the UK’s top real estate practices, advising on major regeneration, development, and investment projects across both the private and public sectors. The team is known for its work with housebuilders, developers, housing associations, local authorities, and institutional investors-covering everything from mixed use schemes to large scale residential development.

The Role
As an NQ-2 PQE Solicitor, you will work within the firm’s Investment & Development practice, supporting a wide range of real estate projects, including:

  • Investment acquisitions, disposals, and asset management
  • Private residential development
  • Local authority and registered provider housing development
  • Estate regeneration and joint venture projects
  • Strategic land transactions
  • Due diligence on medium and large scale development and investment sites
  • Drafting and assisting with acquisition and sale documents for mixed use and residential led schemes
  • Working collaboratively with Corporate, Banking & Finance, Litigation, Projects & Construction, and Planning teams

Your work will include:

  • Advising on all property aspects of development and regeneration schemes
  • Acting for developers, investors, social landlords, government bodies, local authorities, and private sector clients
  • Handling acquisitions of development sites for residential and mixed use schemes
  • Supporting asset management and joint venture projects
  • Managing portfolio sales and acquisitions
  • Assisting with real estate finance matters, including CLLS certificates of title and conditions precedent
  • Running your own files with appropriate supervision
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Participating in marketing and business development initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with Lexcel procedures
  • Engaging in firm wide and departmental training

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a newly qualified or junior solicitor with:

  • A completed training seat in Real Estate
  • Strong technical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to manage matters independently where appropriate
  • Excellent client facing skills and a commitment to high quality service
  • Drive, enthusiasm, and commercial awareness
  • A flexible, proactive, and collaborative mindset
  • Strong academic background
  • Passion for development, regeneration, and the creation of high quality, affordable homes
