A well‑established, multi‑office law firm in London is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate to join their team on a maternity cover contract. The role

The firm is looking for a high‑calibre Civil Litigation Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE. The successful candidate will manage a varied and complex caseload, demonstrate strong client care skills, and communicate confidently at all levels.

While this is a maternity cover position, there is potential for the role to transition into a permanent opportunity.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing a broad range of civil litigation matters from initial instruction through to conclusion
  • Providing accurate cost estimates to new clients
  • Opening files and progressing matters in accordance with firm procedures and SRA requirements
  • Supporting business development initiatives and attending networking events on behalf of the firm

Candidate requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years’ PQE in Civil Litigation
  • Strong experience in property litigation matters
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships internally and externally
  • Calm, confident approach when handling sensitive or challenging conversations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Experience using legal case management software
