Residential Property Legal Executive/Licensed Conveyancer
Location: Bedford
Salary: Up to £45,000/year
Contract: Full‑time & permanent
Working Pattern: Office‑based or hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home)
A well‑established firm in Bedford is looking to welcome an experienced Residential Property Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive to its growing Conveyancing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident fee‑earner to take ownership of a varied caseload while working within a supportive, collaborative department. Reporting directly to the Head of Conveyancing, you’ll handle a broad range of residential property matters and play a key role in delivering a high‑quality service to clients.
The Role
You will manage a full spectrum of residential conveyancing work, including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Re‑mortgages
- Shared Ownership schemes
- Right to Buy matters
- Transfers of Equity
- Lease extensions
You’ll be responsible for running your own caseload, meeting deadlines, and ensuring all work is completed to a high professional standard.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Minimum 3 years’ PQE in residential conveyancing
- Strong client care skills and the ability to provide clear, competent legal advice in line with the SRA Code of Conduct
- Solid IT skills and confidence using case management systems (desirable)
- Proven ability to generate fees and meet agreed targets
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of CPD requirements, CQS standards and internal compliance expectations
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Excellent drafting, communication and technical skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and handle a busy caseload independently
