Senior Associate – Commercial Property – Cardiff – 5+ Years PQE
Location: Cardiff
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, 35 hours per week)
Salary: £60,000 to £85,000 (depending on experience)

A leading regional law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Commercial Property team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse client base and support a high performing team delivering high quality commercial property advice. The Role
You will work closely with partners and colleagues across the Commercial Property team, providing expert legal guidance and supporting ongoing business development initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing high quality legal advice to new and existing clients
  • Drafting, reviewing, analysing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial property documents
  • Engaging proactively in business development and client relationship activities
  • Advising on case strategy and identifying opportunities for service improvements and cross referrals
  • Analysing legal issues, assessing risk, and developing practical solutions
  • Ensuring effective financial management and undertaking work at the appropriate level
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Attending events and actively targeting new work opportunities
  • Keeping up to date with legal developments and maintaining professional competence
  • Supervising junior team members and sharing knowledge across the team
  • Supporting team performance and providing mentoring where needed
  • Leading by example in line with SRA competence standards

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a Senior Associate with:

  • 5+ years PQE as a Solicitor or MCILEX/FCILEX with relevant commercial property experience
  • Experience in the housing sector or social housing work (advantageous)
  • Experience working with Third Sector clients (advantageous)
  • Excellent technical legal knowledge
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and colleagues
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support junior team members
